Expect sound baths, gong sessions, and singing bowl or crystal bowl circles. Eugene is a health-conscious university town with strong interest in alternative wellness, so the mix changes from host to host. Read the session description before booking, since two listings with the same title can run very differently.

Most hosts in Eugene welcome people who have never done it before, and many say so in the listing. Most rooms hold a mix of first timers and people who come back every week. If you are new, look for a session described as beginner friendly, all levels, or an introduction. If you are pregnant or have a health condition, talk to your own healthcare provider first and tell the host before the session starts.

Most sessions run 45 to 90 minutes, lying on a mat with your eyes closed while the practitioner moves around the room playing gongs, bowls, and chimes. It is normal to drift in and out of sleep, and many people describe feeling deeply relaxed afterwards. Nobody will put you on the spot and you can stop at any point, so arrive a few minutes early rather than rushing in.
