Every path leads to the same place: the surrender-based method, a real facilitator credential, and the confidence to hold Breathwork for real people. You learn safe, trauma-informed facilitation and the business side of filling your first rooms.
Whichever format you choose, you train directly with Ryan and Shelby in a small cohort, and you keep the graduate community and mentorship long after your final day.
We built the online cohort for people who can't travel, or who simply want to start online. Whatever your reason, it gets you there. That said, if you can make an in-person intensive work, we always encourage it. Breathing in a room with your cohort is something a screen can't fully recreate.
Liquid Breathwork is an Arizona-based Breathwork practice offering classes, private and corporate sessions, and facilitator certification, founded by Ryan McBurney and Shelby Von Oepen. Nothing we run is in Colorado.
So from Denver you have two real choices: fly to Salt Lake City or Scottsdale for three days in the room, or train online from wherever you live, RiNo, LoHi, Capitol Hill, Cherry Creek, Wash Park or out in Boulder.
DEN sits about 25 miles northeast of downtown, and United, Frontier and Southwest all run big hubs there. From Union Station the A Line reaches the terminal in about 37 minutes, with trains every 15 minutes through the day. From downtown Boulder the AB1 skyRide bus runs about hourly and takes about 80 minutes.
The nonstop to Salt Lake City is about 90 minutes on Delta, Frontier, Southwest or United. Land, walk out to the TRAX Green Line, and you are downtown in about 20 minutes.
Prefer Scottsdale in February? DEN to Phoenix Sky Harbor is about two hours nonstop, then a short drive to Scottsdale. Lake Tahoe in August means flying into Reno, then about an hour by car.
Either way, Breathwork certification from Colorado means a flight, and we would rather say that up front than pretend Salt Lake City is around the corner.
Low 60s by afternoon, low 40s at dawn, and the valley usually sees its last snow in early or mid April. Pack layers and a warm jacket. The city sits around 4,300 feet, about a thousand feet lower than the Mile High City.
One Denver-side note: April still drops about six inches of snow at DEN in an average year, so leave room for a spring storm on the way out. Scottsdale in February runs highs around 70.
Two notes for the neighbors who fly through DEN or come up from New Mexico.
If your morning walk is Chautauqua under the Flatirons, you are about 80 minutes from DEN on the AB1 skyRide, which picks up downtown a few blocks from Pearl Street and runs about hourly. From the terminal it is the same 90-minute hop to Salt Lake City as everyone else on the Front Range. The training itself is on the Salt Lake City page.
New Mexico gets two directions. From Albuquerque, Southwest and American fly nonstop to Phoenix in about 1 hour 20 minutes for the Scottsdale and Phoenix trainings on the certification page, and Delta flies nonstop to Salt Lake City. Santa Fe already has a deep wellness scene, and the Rail Runner links it to Albuquerque in about an hour and a half.

Weekly classes, held so consistently that three of her breathers came and got certified in Liquid Breathwork too.
You learn to guide surrender-based Breathwork: the breather relaxes down instead of being pushed to a peak, and intermittent breath holds do part of the work. All 63 lessons across 5 modules are laid out in the full curriculum.
Trauma-informed pacing runs through the whole thing. Consent, boundaries, reading the room, and safety training. Then the business side: pricing, your first class, and how to fill it. Mentorship from Ryan and Shelby continues after you finish.
You already breathe at a mile high, and some of you have sweated through Yoga on the Rocks on a summer Saturday. This is the other side of that: you hold the room instead of sitting in it.
