What You Walk Away With

Every path leads to the same place: the surrender-based method, a real facilitator credential, and the confidence to hold Breathwork for real people. You learn safe, trauma-informed facilitation and the business side of filling your first rooms.

Whichever format you choose, you train directly with Ryan and Shelby in a small cohort, and you keep the graduate community and mentorship long after your final day.

We built the online cohort for people who can't travel, or who simply want to start online. Whatever your reason, it gets you there. That said, if you can make an in-person intensive work, we always encourage it. Breathing in a room with your cohort is something a screen can't fully recreate.

Breathwork Training From Detroit, Two Ways

Lake Michigan sits between you and the closest training: Milwaukee, Wisconsin, June 11-13, 2027. Venue TBD. The trip is easier than the map makes it look.

  • Delta flies nonstop from DTW to Milwaukee.
  • By car, I-94 runs the whole way through Chicago. You gain an hour heading west.
  • By rail, the Wolverine reaches Chicago Union Station and the Hiawatha goes on to Milwaukee.

The weekend runs Friday to Sunday, 9am to 6pm Central. We bring snacks; meals are on you. Book Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights in Milwaukee so you arrive rested for the 9am Friday start.

Rather go east? Washington, D.C. runs May 21-23, and DTW flies nonstop there too. You will find it under "See all" in the cards above.

In person in Milwaukee

Make the trip west for three days in the room with Ryan and Shelby. You guide real breathers and hear what to adjust while the session is still running.

DTW, the Wolverine and I-94

Flying from DTW

Detroit Metro in Romulus is Delta's second-largest hub, and Delta flies nonstop from DTW to Milwaukee.

The same airport covers the other trips. DTW has nonstops to Reagan National, Dulles and BWI for D.C., and to Phoenix Sky Harbor for the Phoenix trainings.

By train

The Wolverine leaves from the New Center station on West Baltimore Avenue. Skip Michigan Central in Corktown. It reopened in 2024 as Ford's campus, and Amtrak does not use it.

Closer to Dearborn, Ann Arbor, Royal Oak, Troy or Pontiac? Board there. Detroit to Chicago takes about 5 and a half hours. The Hiawatha covers the last leg to Milwaukee in about 1 hour 29 minutes.

Give yourself a night in Chicago or Milwaukee rather than a tight connection between the two trains.

By car

Get on I-94 and stay on it through Chicago to Milwaukee. You cross into Central time on the way. The route runs straight through Chicago, so check the drive in your maps app before you leave.

June Weather and the Clock Change

Milwaukee in June runs mid 70s by day and high 50s at night, a few degrees cooler than a Detroit June. Lake Michigan cools the lakefront, so pack a layer for evenings.

Then the clock. Wisconsin is on Central time, an hour behind Michigan. Our 9am start is 10am on a Detroit clock, so plan Friday's flight or drive by Milwaukee time.

Coming from across the Midwest

Most of Michigan gets to Milwaukee through one of two doors: DTW or Chicago Union Station. Here is how each part of the state lines up.

From Ann Arbor, Oakland County and Downriver

Breathwork certification near Ann Arbor means the same trip as from downtown: Milwaukee, June 11-13. Ann Arbor and Dearborn are both Wolverine stops. Oakland County has three more, at Royal Oak, Troy and Pontiac.

Flying? DTW in Romulus is the airport for all of it, from Ferndale up the Woodward Corridor to the suburbs south of the city. One Delta nonstop puts you on the Wisconsin side of the lake.

From anywhere in Michigan

Breathwork certification for the rest of Michigan runs through Chicago. All three Amtrak routes in the state end at Union Station, and the Hiawatha to Milwaukee leaves from the same building.

The Wolverine serves Pontiac, Detroit, Ann Arbor, Jackson and Kalamazoo. The Blue Water starts in Port Huron and stops at Flint, East Lansing and Battle Creek. The Pere Marquette runs from Grand Rapids through Holland and St. Joseph.

West Michigan has its own shortcut across the lake, and our Grand Rapids page covers it. From anywhere else, plan a night before the Friday session rather than a same-day connection.

What the Training Covers

Ryan and Shelby teach all three days together. You start by guiding one person through a Liquid Breathwork session, then a full circle. The full curriculum lives on the certification page.

Trauma-informed pacing comes first. The breather sets the depth. You learn who should sit a session out, and how to slow things down when someone needs it.

Consent and nervous system awareness run through every level, not a bolt-on module. The business lessons cover insurance, waivers and contraindications, then pricing and filling your first rooms if you plan to teach back home around Metro Detroit. Mentorship keeps going after the weekend. 55 students have enrolled so far.

Back home, take it outside: Belle Isle, the RiverWalk, the Dequindre Cut.

Want to try a class before you sign up? Breathwork near Detroit lists sessions around the city run by other teachers.
