What You Walk Away With

Every path leads to the same place: the surrender-based method, a real facilitator credential, and the confidence to hold Breathwork for real people. You learn safe, trauma-informed facilitation and the business side of filling your first rooms.

Whichever format you choose, you train directly with Ryan and Shelby in a small cohort, and you keep the graduate community and mentorship long after your final day.

We built the online cohort for people who can't travel, or who simply want to start online. Whatever your reason, it gets you there. That said, if you can make an in-person intensive work, we always encourage it. Breathing in a room with your cohort is something a screen can't fully recreate.

Getting There From 30th Street

Amtrak leaves from William H. Gray III 30th Street Station. Locals just say 30th Street.

Northbound, you step off at Moynihan Train Hall at Penn Station, about 70 to 90 minutes on Amtrak. Southbound, Union Station in D.C. is about two hours on Amtrak.

The cheaper ride to New York is SEPTA's Trenton Line with a change to NJ Transit at Trenton, on a joint ticket.

Flying in? PHL is an American Airlines hub, and SEPTA's Airport Line runs from every terminal to 30th Street about every 30 minutes. It is also your airport for the Phoenix training on the cards above.

October in New York means highs in the 60s and cooler nights, a few degrees cooler than Philly, so pack layers. May in D.C. means highs in the mid 70s, lows near 60, a few rainy days, a couple of degrees warmer than home, so bring a rain layer.

Coming from across the Mid-Atlantic

Open the one that fits where you live.

South Jersey, Delaware and the Main Line

South Jersey is already halfway there. Collingswood, Haddonfield and Cherry Hill ride the PATCO Speedline over the Ben Franklin Bridge into Center City, and 30th Street is a short hop from there. Searching for a Breathwork certification from New Jersey? Same answer: New York in October 2027 or D.C. in May 2027, both on one Amtrak line.

Wilmington gets its own stop. Acela and Northeast Regional trains call there in both directions, so Delaware never has to change at 30th Street. On the Main Line, Ardmore and Paoli have Keystone and SEPTA service straight into 30th Street.

Lancaster, Harrisburg and central Pennsylvania

The Keystone Service is your train. It runs from Harrisburg through Lancaster, Exton, Paoli and Ardmore into 30th Street, and most weekday Keystone trains keep going to New York, so you may never change trains at all. For D.C., step off at 30th Street and catch a southbound Regional or Acela.

Breathwork certification from Pennsylvania comes down to a Keystone ticket and a weekend away. Pittsburgh is covered on the Washington, D.C. page. Weighing all three East Coast trainings, Atlanta included? The East Coast page lines them up.

Buffalo and Western New York

From Buffalo, fly. Several airlines run nonstops from Buffalo Niagara to LaGuardia, JFK and Newark for the New York training, and to Reagan National and Dulles for D.C. Southwest also flies nonstop to Phoenix if the soonest training on the certification page fits your calendar better.

Skip the drive for a weekend training. A short nonstop flight does it.

“So grateful for both of you, Ryan and Shelby. You’re changing my life right as we speak ... the ladies both booked for next week for paid sessions.”

What the Training Covers

Maybe you already breathe on your own. A bench in Rittenhouse Square before work, or Forbidden Drive in the Wissahickon on a Sunday. The training is how you go from breathing for yourself to guiding a room.

Over three days you learn the Liquid Breathwork method start to finish: opening a session, pacing it, staying with someone through a big release without pushing, and closing with integration. The full curriculum, 5 modules and 63 lessons, is on the certification page.

Screening and safety come first. Every session we teach is trauma-informed. You also get the business side: pricing, first clients, and filling a room back home, whether that is a rented room in Fishtown or a backyard in Manayunk. Ryan and Shelby keep mentoring you after the weekend.

Meet Your Guides

He has guided hundreds of one-on-one sessions and led groups for thousands of people. Ryan created the surrender-based method this training is built on.

Shelby Von Oepen, co-founder of Liquid Breathwork and breathwork teacher training instructor specializing in somatic support

Shelby Von Oepen

Co-Founder & Lead Facilitator

Shelby brings an intuitive & nurturing energy into sessions and the training, which is the part of facilitation nobody learns from a video.
