What You Walk Away With

Every path leads to the same place: the surrender-based method, a real facilitator credential, and the confidence to hold Breathwork for real people. You learn safe, trauma-informed facilitation and the business side of filling your first rooms.

Whichever format you choose, you train directly with Ryan and Shelby in a small cohort, and you keep the graduate community and mentorship long after your final day.

We built the online cohort for people who can't travel, or who simply want to start online. Whatever your reason, it gets you there. That said, if you can make an in-person intensive work, we always encourage it. Breathing in a room with your cohort is something a screen can't fully recreate.

Breathwork Certification From Hampton Roads

The closest in-person training to the 757 is in Washington, D.C., May 21-23. You have two good ways to get there.

Take the train. The Northeast Regional leaves Norfolk and pulls into Union Station about four and a half hours later. Or drive it, about 200 miles up I-64 and I-95.

Either way, come up the day before. Days run 9am to 6pm, Friday to Sunday, and the first train out of Norfolk can't get you there by 9. Plan on three nights in D.C.

We haven't picked the venue yet. Flexible refund policy. Transfer or refund within 30 days of dates and location being settled.

Fall suit you better? New York runs October 15-17.

Getting Out of Hampton Roads

Start with the train. Norfolk's Amtrak station sits on the Elizabeth River at the east edge of downtown, right next to Harbor Park, with a Tide light rail stop close by.

Coming from the Oceanfront side? An Amtrak Thruway bus links Virginia Beach to the Norfolk station, timed to meet the trains.

Driving means I-64 through the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel, then I-95 north. Check the tunnel and Thursday traffic on I-95 before you pick a time to leave.

Flying works too. ORF, about 7 miles northeast of downtown Norfolk, has nonstops to Reagan National, Dulles and BWI. It also flies nonstop to all three New York airports and to Atlanta. Most Phoenix trips from ORF connect.

Weather for the May Training

Washington in May sits in the mid 70s by day and near 60 after dark. Rain falls on roughly a dozen days, and the air turns humid late in the month.

So pack like you're home. May at ORF runs in the upper 70s by day and near 60 at night, with about as many wet days. A light layer and a rain jacket cover it. You'll also be back before beach season gets going at the Oceanfront.

Coming from across Virginia

Pick the area you're leaving from.

The Southside: Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake and Portsmouth

Hampton Roads splits at the harbor into the Southside and the Peninsula. The Southside has the simplest start: board at Norfolk's station by Harbor Park. From Ghent or downtown Norfolk you can ride the Tide toward it, and from Virginia Beach the Thruway bus makes the connection. Chesapeake and Portsmouth start from the same station. Across the line in northeast North Carolina? ORF serves your corner too.

The Peninsula: Hampton, Newport News and Williamsburg

You can skip the tunnel entirely. Newport News and Williamsburg have their own Northeast Regional trains toward Union Station, so board on your side of the water. If you'd rather fly, cross to ORF: the Newport News/Williamsburg airport has no nonstop to D.C.

Richmond, Northern Virginia and the Rest of the State

Looking for a Breathwork certification Virginia residents can reach without flying? For most of the state, that's D.C., and the route depends on where you start. Richmond readers have their own page. Northern Virginia is close enough to treat D.C. as local, so the Washington, D.C. page covers it. Charlottesville, Lynchburg and Roanoke have a daily Northeast Regional of their own into Union Station. Comparing D.C. with New York and Atlanta? The East Coast page lays out all three. What the Training Teaches

Maybe you already lead Breathwork around Virginia Beach. Maybe your practice is an early walk on the trails at First Landing State Park, or the quiet out at Back Bay past Sandbridge. This training shows you how to lead a whole room of people to that same place.

Hampton Roads is home to the world's largest naval station, and plenty of people here hold steady for others all day: Navy families, nurses, teachers. The training starts with your own nervous system, then teaches you to hold space for someone else's.

You learn our surrender-based method from the inside first. Then you learn to open a session, pace the breath and the music, sit with someone through a big release, and bring them back with integration. You also learn safety, consent around touch, and trauma-informed pacing. The full module list lives in the curriculum.

The business side comes with it: pricing your sessions, filling a first class, and mentorship from Ryan and Shelby after the weekend. Want to feel a session first? Find Breathwork classes near Virginia Beach.
