What You Walk Away With

Every path leads to the same place: the surrender-based method, a real facilitator credential, and the confidence to hold Breathwork for real people. You learn safe, trauma-informed facilitation and the business side of filling your first rooms.

Whichever format you choose, you train directly with Ryan and Shelby in a small cohort, and you keep the graduate community and mentorship long after your final day.

We built the online cohort for people who can't travel, or who simply want to start online. Whatever your reason, it gets you there. That said, if you can make an in-person intensive work, we always encourage it. Breathing in a room with your cohort is something a screen can't fully recreate.

Breathwork Training, Pittsburgh to D.C.

For Breathwork certification near Pittsburgh, the closest in-person weekend is Washington, D.C., May 21-23, a trip south and east. None of the in-person dates land in Pennsylvania.

A trail already connects the two cities. The Great Allegheny Passage starts at the Point and meets the C&O Canal towpath in Cumberland, Maryland. Together they run 335 miles to Georgetown. The training sits at the D.C. end of that corridor.

Friday to Sunday. Get there by 8:45, we begin at 9 and wrap around 6. We put out snacks. Meals are on you.

Fall suits you better? New York runs October 15-17. Same three days, same certification.

Getting to D.C. From Pittsburgh

  • Fly

From the new terminal at PIT, American goes nonstop to DCA (Reagan National), and DCA has its own Metro station on the Blue and Yellow lines. Nonstops also run to Dulles and BWI. From BWI, MARC and Amtrak trains go to Union Station.

  • Train

One Amtrak train a day runs from Pittsburgh to Union Station by way of Connellsville and Cumberland. It is a long day and slower than the car, so ride down the day before.

  • Drive

About 240 miles, a half day on the Turnpike.

What May Feels Like in D.C.

Expect highs in the mid 70s and lows near 60, with some rain. Home in May runs a few degrees cooler, low 70s by day and nights near 50, so D.C. evenings will feel mild. Bring a light layer and a rain shell.

Coming from across the Mid-Atlantic

Live outside the city? Here is how the towns around Pittsburgh reach a training.

From the Laurel Highlands and the GAP towns

Connellsville, Ohiopyle, Confluence and Meyersdale all sit on the Great Allegheny Passage as it climbs through the Laurel Highlands.

The daily Amtrak train to Washington stops at Connellsville and at Cumberland, Maryland. You can board near home instead of heading into the city first. Ohiopyle and Confluence are closer to Connellsville. Meyersdale is closer to Cumberland.

Get off at Union Station. Everything about the weekend itself is on the Washington, D.C. page.

From Greensburg, Latrobe, Johnstown and Altoona

Your towns are stops on the Pennsylvanian, the daily Amtrak train that heads east through Harrisburg and Philadelphia to New York Penn Station.

So New York (October 15-17) is a one-seat ride for you, while D.C. means a change of trains in Philadelphia, or the drive. Pick by month.

East of Harrisburg already? The Philadelphia page was written for you.

Weighing D.C., New York and Atlanta

Atlanta comes first in the year (March 19-21), then D.C., then New York in the fall. If the calendar is what decides it, compare all three weekends on the East Coast page.

Sisily Chevalier, Liquid Breathwork facilitator

Sisily Chevalier - Owner of Body by Sisily, LBW facilitator

“So grateful for both of you, Ryan and Shelby. You’re changing my life right as we speak ... the ladies both booked for next week for paid sessions.”

Krystal - Realtor, nurse, LBW facilitator

“I was really looking for something that was more gentle, more supportive ... and Liquid Breathwork delivered just that.”

She arrived a beginner, after one Breathwork class elsewhere that felt like a lot. She left certain that everything we need is already within us.

What You Learn in Three Days

You probably already have a place you go to clear your head. A loop through Frick Park, maybe, or a run on the Three Rivers Heritage Trail. The training teaches the other side of that: guiding another person through a Liquid Breathwork session, then a whole circle. The full curriculum lives on the certification page.

Reading another person is the hard part, so most of the hours go there, and we correct your cues in the moment. One rule sits under all of it: whoever is breathing decides how far it goes. That is what trauma-informed means here, and screening happens before anyone lies down.

You also learn the unglamorous pieces: waivers, contraindications, and asking before you touch anyone. The last piece turns Breathwork teacher training near Pittsburgh into work back on this side of the Laurel Highlands: what to charge, and how to fill a first class. Mentoring does not stop on Sunday, and 55 students have enrolled to date.

Want to breathe with a group before you commit? Our Breathwork Pittsburgh guide lists where to find a class around town now.
