Neurodynamic Breathwork Review (2026): Cost, Format, and Who It Fits

Neurodynamic Breathwork review: Ryan McBurney teaching a Breathwork group in person

This Neurodynamic Breathwork review answers what people ask before they apply: what it costs, how the six months run, and who it fits. Every fact about their program comes from their own pages, read October 2, 2026. We have not taken their training, and we run our own Breathwork certification, so read this as a competitor's view.

Quick verdict: Neurodynamic Breathwork runs a serious, well-documented online facilitator training. It is six months and 330 hours, live on Saturdays, capped at 40 trainees, at $6,295 (or $4,995 if you register within 3 days of acceptance).

It fits you if you want a long online program with deep personal work, taught in the Grof lineage. It is a weaker fit if you want your teachers in the room while you guide real people.

What Is Neurodynamic Breathwork?

Neurodynamic Breathwork (NDB) is a music-led, non-directive Breathwork method created by Michael Stone. He found Breathwork in 2005, trained as a Holotropic Breathwork® facilitator under Stanislav Grof, and launched NDB in 2017 as a lower-cost format people could do online, often.

A typical online workshop takes about two hours, with a 60-minute breathing session set to a designed music set, then sharing and integration. The facilitator holds space and does not steer the breather's experience. Their word for what leads instead is the breather's "Inner Guiding Intelligence."

Neurodynamic Breathwork Cost

The price depends on whether you breathe or train to facilitate. Both are published.

Payment plans are built on the $4,995 rate: 3, 6, 9 or 12 months, the longest at $466.25 a month. They offer partial scholarships each cohort. For comparison, Liquid Breathwork's in-person training is $1,997 and our online cohort is $1,497. Our Breathwork certification cost guide puts the whole industry side by side.

How the Training Runs

  • Schedule: three live online classes a month, on Saturdays at 9:00am Pacific, 4.5 hours each. Recorded videos come before each class.
  • Length: six months. The next cohort starts October 3, 2026 and ends in April 2027.
  • Practice: at least 6 online practice sessions with other trainees, then 2 in-person sessions with people from your own life, debriefed with the teaching team.
  • Support: a study partner, three private coaching calls, and monthly alumni check-ins after graduation.
  • Getting in: an application and discovery call, and you must attend at least one live NDB session before registering.

Certification covers online sessions of any size and one-on-one sessions in person. To lead in-person groups under their name, you add the optional 3-day intensive at the end, which their program page lists as an online intensive.

What Neurodynamic Breathwork Does Well

  • Everything is on the page. Price, discount, payment plans, schedule, cap and practicum count are published, so you can decide before the call.
  • The founder teaches. Their page says Michael Stone teaches almost every session, with co-lead trainer Glenn Girlando and Gwen Williams, MSW, PhD.
  • Personal work is a third of the program. One class a month is set aside for your own inner process, plus a one-on-one session.
  • Ethics has a named source. Kylea Taylor, author of The Ethics of Caring, leads a guest session on her InnerEthics method.
  • A published cap. Each cohort takes 40 trainees at most, and they say so up front.

What to Weigh

  • No time in a room with your teachers. Your in-person reps are two sessions with friends or family, reviewed afterward on a call.
  • In-person groups cost one more step. The base certificate covers online groups and one-on-one sessions in person. Groups in a room need the add-on intensive.
  • The discount runs on a 3-day clock. The $1,300 saving needs a decision within 3 days of acceptance. Budget against $6,295 and treat the lower price as a bonus.
  • Six months of Saturdays. 4.5-hour classes three Saturdays a month is a real calendar commitment, and 9:00am Pacific lands late in the day in Europe.

Is Neurodynamic Breathwork Worth It?

As a participant, the single session at $33 is a cheap way to find out if you like it. Their training also requires you to attend one before you register.

As a facilitator, it is worth it if you want six months of structure, a lot of inner work, and a method rooted in Grof's non-directive style, all from home. If you mainly want to lead live groups in a room soon after you finish, weigh the add-on step and the lack of in-person teaching first.
