What is the Lake Tahoe Breathwork Training Retreat?
The Lake Tahoe Breathwork training retreat is a five-day, in-person facilitator training held August 20-24, 2026, at On Lakeview Lakefront Cabin in South Lake Tahoe. You learn to guide surrender-based Breathwork sessions through hands-on practice with Ryan and Shelby, stay on-site at a lakefront cabin, and earn an NCBTMB-approved credential. Tuition is $3,250 and monthly payment plans are available.
Why Lake Tahoe
Some places change the way Breathwork lands, and Lake Tahoe is one of them. This destination Breathwork facilitator training retreat is set on an alpine lakefront, where granite peaks meet one of the clearest lakes in the world. At elevation, surrounded by stillness and open water, the surrender-based practice opens up in a way that is hard to recreate anywhere else. You train, you rest, and you integrate with the lake right outside the door.
Lake Tahoe is easy to reach from a wide drive radius. The Bay Area, Sacramento, and Reno are all within comfortable driving distance, and Reno-Tahoe airport is the closest gateway for anyone flying in. Tahoe City and Truckee are right around the corner, so you are never far from food, trails, and the water.
Late August is the best time of year to be here. The weather is warm, the lake is swimmable, and the summer crowds are easing into the quieter shoulder season. It is the ideal window for an immersive Lake Tahoe breathwork retreat, where training hours give way to lake time, real rest, and genuine connection with the people you train alongside.

Who This Retreat Is For
This Breathwork teacher training retreat is for anyone drawn to the surrender-based method who wants immersive, in-person training rather than learning over a screen. No prior Breathwork experience is required. Whether you are a yoga teacher, coach, therapist, bodyworker, or someone with no wellness background at all, we teach the method from the ground up.
You want in-person depth
Some people learn best in the room, hands-on, with real participants and immediate feedback. This destination Breathwork facilitator training retreat gives you the full five-day immersion at the lake.
You are called to this work
You feel pulled to guide Breathwork for others, and you want a method rooted in surrender and trust rather than forced intensity. The credential matters, but so does becoming the kind of facilitator people feel safe with.

Meet Your Guides
Ryan McBurney
Founder & Lead Facilitator
Ryan is the founder of Liquid Breathwork and the creator of the surrender-based methodology at the heart of this training. He has spent years guiding hundreds of people through transformative Breathwork experiences across Arizona and beyond. His facilitation style is grounded, intuitive, and deeply present. Ryan brings both the technical depth and the lived experience to teach you not just the how of Breathwork, but the why.
Shelby Von Oepen
Co-Founder & Lead Facilitator
Shelby brings warmth, emotional intelligence, and deep somatic skill to every training. She has an exceptional ability to read the subtle language of the nervous system, recognizing when someone needs support, space, or gentle encouragement. Her training in somatic support and ethical touch practices ensures that graduates leave with the sensitivity and skill to work with clients at the body level.
You train directly with Ryan and Shelby in small cohorts, so every student gets personal attention, real practicum time, and honest feedback through the whole five days. The Liquid Breathwork facilitator training is NCBTMB-approved, which means it meets recognized continuing education standards.
Train Alongside a Real Community
Liquid Breathwork cohorts stay small and close. You graduate with a group of facilitators who train together, support each other, and stay connected long after the retreat ends. These are some of the students and graduates who have trained with Ryan and Shelby.
Trust and Standards
Surrender-Based Methodology
We teach active release and trust, not forced intensity. The body already knows how to heal itself, and you learn to facilitate that intelligence rather than push against it.
Business Curriculum Included
Most trainings stop at technique. We include pricing, marketing, and client acquisition so you leave able to build a real, sustainable Breathwork practice.
NCBTMB-Approved
Our facilitator training meets recognized continuing education standards through NCBTMB approval, so your credential carries real weight.
Ongoing Graduate Support
You leave with mentorship from Ryan and Shelby and access to the private graduate community. The support continues long after the retreat ends.
