Every fact below comes from their own pages, read September 28, 2026. We have not taken the training, so this is a read of what they publish, not a first-person account. It is a strong fit if you want a live cohort with a nervous-system and bodywork frame. It is a weaker fit if you want more than one weekly call, or an in-person track that certifies you on the last day.
What the Soma+IQ certification is
Soma+IQ is a Somatic Breathwork school founded by Steven Jaggers. Its training page describes the method as "somatic-based breathwork, bodywork, and coaching techniques" built around an arc of upregulation and downregulation, which they call "clearing to become clear." The credential at the end is the "Soma+IQ™ Certification: Level 1."
On accreditation, we will quote the page rather than interpret it. The header reads "#1 Emotional Intelligence & Trauma-Informed Somatic Training Accredited by Arizona State University." The FAQ says the training "is Accredited by a partnered Program with Arizona State University" and "also offers (4) continuing education/credits (CEUs)." Ask them directly what that means for your profession.

Both paths include a self-paced Somatic ARC Framework, a daily Breathwork and body mapping course, one private somatic session, and 12 months of community access. The in-person page names Flow Yoga Westgate in Austin, Texas as a venue; the FAQ says Colorado and California. The next online cohort starts mid-October 2026 (the page lists October 13 in one place and October 14 in another).
Payment: 3 to 6 month interest-free plans, or Klarna and Afterpay at 4 to 24 months. Refunds: a full refund inside the first three weeks of online training if you participated, then a satisfaction guarantee. In-person seats are non-refundable within 14 days of the date, with transfers to a later date.
Who it fits
Their own list is coaches, therapists, practitioners and bodyworkers. The FAQ says "nearly 50% of our students are here for themselves first," and the online curriculum spends weeks 1 to 3 on your own patterns before anyone touches session structure. If you want that inner work first, and a mentor watching you facilitate on Zoom, this is built for you.
What we liked
- The price, the week-by-week curriculum, and the refund terms are all on the page. You can decide without a sales call.
- The practicum is real: eight sessions, including at least one private, one small group (2 to 5 people), one in-person and one online, before the certificate is issued. That is more supervised reps than most online programs ask for.
- Weeks 4 to 7 teach titration, "help a person move an emotion they've been holding" while keeping the intensity safe. That is the right emphasis for somatic work.
- A written satisfaction guarantee: if you cannot confidently lead a session by the end, they keep working with you at no extra cost.
What to weigh
- The online cohort runs on one live call a week, Tuesdays at noon Pacific. Everything else is community sessions and replays.
- The in-person immersion is four days, but the certificate still waits on the 8-session practicum you arrange afterward.
- In-person venues are the cities they list. Anyone outside Texas, Colorado or California is adding travel.
- The online and in-person paths are two separate tickets. The pages we read do not list a bundle price for doing both.
How Liquid Breathwork compares
We teach a surrender-based, trauma-informed style with a Registered Nurse on staff. Formats: a 3-day in-person immersion in the Phoenix area at $1,997, or a 12-week online cohort at $1,497. Both are one-time tuition with no membership afterward, and both include a Breathwork marketing module, because holding a room is only half the job. No. Soma+IQ (somaticbreathwork.com) was founded by Steven Jaggers and teaches Somatic Breathwork with bodywork and coaching. SOMA Breath (somabreath.com) was founded by Niraj Naik and teaches rhythmic breathing over music. They are separate companies with separate certifications.
How long does it take to get certified with Soma+IQ?
